On this page
Radboud University in Nijmegen is a public research university with a very large English-taught master's catalogue and non-EU fees that start below many other Dutch research universities. Fees are set per program: for 2027/28, for example, the Psychology bachelor's costs €13,812 and the Data Science & AI master's €19,555 per year for non-EU students.
Non-EU applicants apply through Studielink from 1 October 2026, and the main deadline for September 2027 is 1 April 2027. Here is everything you need: fees, programs, requirements, scholarship dates and an honest view of the downsides.
Why Radboud is good value
Radboud gives you a research-university degree with a broad choice of English-taught master's in fields from artificial intelligence and biology to anthropology, arts and culture. Some of its bachelor's fees for non-EU students, such as Psychology, are lower than the typical bachelor's fees at the larger universities in Amsterdam, Utrecht or Leiden. It also runs its own scholarship programme for talented non-EU master's students.
Radboud tuition fees for non-EU students
Radboud does not have one flat non-EU fee. Each program shows its institutional fee on its Tuition tab, and the 2027/28 amounts are still subject to change. EU/EEA students pay the statutory fee of €2,771 for 2027/28.
| Program | Level | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Psychology | Bachelor's | €13,812 |
| Artificial Intelligence | Bachelor's | €17,701 |
| Data Science & AI | Master's | €19,555 |
On top of tuition, every applicant with international prior education pays a non-refundable €100 application fee before the application is processed. For the February 2027 master's intake the non-EEA fee is still €75.
Proof of funds
For your residence permit you need the IND study norm of €1,130.77 per month for 2026, for 12 months. Our cost of studying in the Netherlands guide explains how to show it.

Admission requirements
Bachelor's
You need a secondary diploma equivalent to Dutch VWO plus program subjects such as mathematics. English: IELTS 6.0 with all sub-scores at least 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80 (all parts at least 20) or 4.5 on the new scale, Cambridge C1 169 or PTE 61. Some programs ask for IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90. Psychology and Biomedical Sciences are numerus fixus programs with a selection procedure.
Master's
You need a bachelor's equivalent to a Dutch research-university bachelor's in the same field. A bachelor's from a university of applied sciences does not give direct admission; a pre-master may be required. English is typically IELTS 6.5 (writing 6.5, others at least 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 90 (all parts at least 22), with higher levels for some programs.
From Afghanistan, Pakistan or India?
Check how your diploma compares before applying. Nuffic compares an Afghan bachelor's to an HBO bachelor's or 2 years of WO, which may mean a pre-master rather than direct admission. Read our admission requirements guide.

Radboud Scholarship Programme
The Radboud Scholarship Programme gives partial scholarships to talented non-EU/EEA students in English-taught master's programs. It is for the September intake only, and you must apply for your master's in Studielink by 31 January 2027 to be considered. Treat it as a reduction, not full funding. More options: our scholarships in the Netherlands guide.
Living in Nijmegen
Nijmegen is a student city in the east of the Netherlands, next to Arnhem. Study in NL says students spend on average €1,000–€1,500 a month, and an average room costs about €550 depending on the city. Housing is short across the country, so start looking as soon as you are admitted and never pay for a room you have not seen. You may work up to 16 hours a week, or full-time in June to August, once your employer has a work permit (TWV).
