Study in Flanders estimates student living costs at €800 to €1,000 per month, with rent of €450 to €600. For the visa, you must prove at least €1,062 net per month for 2026/27. You may work up to 20 hours per week during term with a residence permit. Budget tips are in our cost of studying in Belgium guide.

Is UAntwerp right for you?

UAntwerp is especially good value at bachelor's level: €4,300 a year (2026/27) for an English-taught bachelor is below the Flanders guideline range, and English-taught bachelors are limited in Belgium. At master's level the picture changes. €7,800 is higher than the €5,340 track at VUB (2027/28), the €3,900 category at UHasselt (2026/27), or the €1,194 to €5,369 range at French-speaking universities (2026/27).

  • Good fit: school leavers who want an English-taught bachelor in social-economic sciences or urban sustainability.
  • Good fit: master's applicants who want a specific UAntwerp program, such as data science and AI or financial engineering, and can budget €7,800.
  • Think twice: if your documents are slow to legalise, because legalised documents must reach the registrar by 31 May 2027.
