Admission requirements

Bachelor's

You need one accepted exam or diploma. AGU's 2026/27 criteria include:

  • SAT at least 1100/1600 (send scores with DI code 7466) or ACT at least 24 (code 7081)
  • GCE A/AS/O-level combinations (minimum C), French Baccalaureate at least 13/20
  • WAEC with B3 in four subjects, or KCSE B-
  • TR-YÖS (valid two years) with the percentile AGU sets
  • Conditional admission on the diploma alone is possible with a GPA of at least 90%

Meeting the criteria does not guarantee admission; a commission decides based on demand and quotas. At registration you need a diploma equivalence certificate (Denklik) from the Turkish Ministry of National Education, proof of funds and health insurance.

English

Pass the AGU English proficiency exam or show a certificate accepted by the School of Foreign Languages; otherwise you take an English prep year. IELTS is not accepted. Graduate applicants need TOEFL iBT 80 (Writing 22) or the AGU exam; master's students can be admitted conditionally without a certificate.

Master's and PhD

The Graduate School of Engineering and Science ranks applicants on a placement score of at least 75/100: 50% ALES or GRE, 15% GPA and 35% interview for master's. You need GRE Quantitative 153, ALES-SAY 70 or GMAT 500; international applicants without GRE can be admitted conditionally for two semesters.

Deadlines

  • Bachelor's 2026/27: applications ran 19 January to 14 August 2026 (12:00 noon Turkish time). Dates for 2027/28 are not published yet.
  • Graduate spring 2025/26 (last published): 8 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, interviews 6 January 2026. Spring 2026/27 dates are not published yet; check the graduate deadlines page.

AGU's long bachelor's window is helpful, but places are limited, so apply early. You can track deadlines for free on FindUniPath.

Beware of fake acceptance letters

AGU accepts applications only through its official portal, not through agencies. Pay only into the university's official account. If anyone asks you to pay elsewhere, contact the International Office first.

Scholarships

AGU does not publish a tuition scholarship for international bachelor's students. Graduate students may get housing or scholarship opportunities through the Graduate School. The main external route is Türkiye Scholarships (applications 10 January to 20 February each year). See our scholarships guide.

Settling in: insurance, residence and work

Kayseri is a quieter base than Istanbul or Ankara, and AGU's published dorm and meal prices help you plan. Beyond tuition and housing, budget for these official steps:

  • Health insurance: apply for SGK General Health Insurance within 3 months of your first registration; otherwise you need private insurance for your residence permit.
  • Residence permit: apply on e-İkamet after registration and while your visa is still valid. The permit card fee is 964 TL from 1 January 2026.
  • Work: bachelor's students can work only with a work permit and only after their first year; a student residence permit is not a work permit.
